For several months I have been in the analysis and comparison phase of purchasing a new tractor and all of your postings have been extremely valuable in helping me make the final decision this past Saturday.

I went back to one of the Kubota dealers I had spoken to earlier, but this time with two friends, both of whom were in about the same place in the decision process. One of the friends had owned a Kubota before and the other one was a first time Kubota dealer, like me.

So, we bought not just 1 or 2, but 3 Kubotas (two B7800s and one B7610) on Saturday. It was great fun dealing on three tractors simultaneously and the salesman was willing to work with us. Yes, we did negotiate for hats (one for each of us and each of our horse-loving wives) and filters, as suggested by many of you, but also for extra blades and a gas can each. In addition, we were able to obtain additional discounts off some fair prices by waiving the carrot of three sales in front of the dealer.

At least one delivery happened today and I am anxiously awaiting my new B7800 later this week. The other good news is that we each bought some different implements with the intention of sharing, which will provide some more reason to haggle in the years to come.

All in all I haven't had so much fun and spent so much money doing so since I can't remember.

Thanks for all your help in this decision.

Tim

Congrats on the new machine, but remember in the tractor world, we don't use the word gas can with a diesel CUT, it now becomes fuel can. I'm taking it you got a diesel can (yellow). You must be very clear on that especially if your wife will use the machine. I would hate to see someone fill it up with gas instead of diesel.
I have the 7800 as well and it is a great machine and has surprised me more than once with its abilities. ....

Tim, congrats to you & your two lucky friends.

You think you had fun ordering 3 machines at once and watching the salesman squirm, take a look at my picture # 6. I had to take the dealer out for lunch and get a couple of beer into him to get him relaxed enough to even talk price, then he had to call Kubota 3 times just to make sure they were going to back him up on the deal.

Come to think of it I didn't beat him up for hats, I had to get those from the factory, oh well, there's always next time.

Best of luck. ....

Jarndt, in that picture there are 21 shiny new 'Bota's. That is not the whole fleet, I just took a picture of those ones the day I we had to do the final inspection and pre-delivery paperwork at the dealership. I thought some of the memebrs would find it interesting to seethem all lined up like that.

Those particular ones were purchased for snow removal, sidewalks mostly, in the winter and construction work in the summer, although some of them do other things as well. We have several on contract all year long to one Municipality, we also have several which work all year at a big marina, they move & launch boats in the summer and clean snow and assist with ice fishing a stuff in the winter.

Best of luck. ....

Green, last time I checked it was 38, but I don't think that includes the non-CUT Kubotas that we have, the grass cutters, RTV's and stuff.

Best of luck. ....
